I am SO excited to share this blog today — because it’s actually my wedding! Adam and I were married in June 2022 at the Peterloon Estate in Cincinnati, Ohio. As you know, this one of my absolute favorite venues! As we approach our fourth anniversary, I’ve been having a blast revisiting these images and all the memories from our special day.

While I wasn’t able to photograph my own wedding day (as much as I wanted to!!), I hired two amazing photographers to capture everything. At the end of the day, the images were still edited by me, so they reflect my Cassidy Alane Photography style. Shelby and Kourtney — I’m so thankful to have had you capture all these special moments!

The Peterloon Estate is tucked behind a long lane, giving the ceremony and reception complete privacy. You’ve heard me gush about this venue before! I simply can’t get over the long lane, the history of the property, and the gorgeous grounds. Every time I look at these images, I fall in love all over again.

The Details

Okay… the details. There were so many images that it was hard to narrow down! The stationery suite was designed by The Honey Bee Creative. She absolutely brought my vision to life! Custom blue paper, deckle-edged invitations, and a watercolor painting of the venue on the information sheet – perfection. I also couldn’t resist adding some personal design touches! I designed our menu place cards and ceremony program fans myself. It was so fun getting to use my graphic design background for our wedding day!

The ceremony arch was another favorite element of the day. I had always envisioned a circle arch absolutely covered in florals, and Floral V made it happen! We even moved the arch to the reception area behind the cake table so we could enjoy it twice. As a special bonus after the wedding, Floral V preserved my bouquet in a custom shadow box, turning it into the sweetest keepsake from the day. I love having it displayed in our home as a reminder of such a special season of life.

The lounge set and a cocktail cart with peach Moscato topped with strawberries were the perfect little touches. Guests are still complimenting about it this day!

And the reception… oh my goodness. The tent on the patio blocked out the June sun. The inside was pure goals: blush ceiling drapery, a beautiful chandelier over the dance floor, a king’s table for our bridal party, round tables with light blue linens, minimalistic florals, gold flatware, and blush napkins layered with ivory cheesecloth.

The wedding cake by Très Belle was just as stunning as it was delicious! Blue and white icing adorned with florals and gold flakes. Fun fact: it was pistachio flavored, and honestly, to die for.

And because subtle has never really been my thing — I wore a full-on, extra-glittery ballgown princess dress, complete with a tiara, and yes… I twirled in it a lot. Zero regrets.

None of this would have come together without our incredible planner, Karen with KMC Weddings & Events. She truly rocked every single detail of the day — bringing my Pinterest board to life, keeping everything running smoothly, and helping us find such an amazing vendor team. I cannot recommend her enough.

Anticipation & First Looks

Adam looked amazing getting ready in his suit, and my mom (the goddess that she is) helped me into my dress, tied my sleeves, and got my shoes on. During this time, I also did first looks with my dad (handsome in his tux!), Bennett (our little goober), and my bridesmaids — whose reactions were everything.

The final first look was with Adam, and I’ll admit… I got a little emotional!

Portraits & Bridal Party

After our first looks, we jumped into bride and groom portraits. We started on the front steps of Peterloon, moved across the front lawn, and explored the side lawn with brick arches — every spot was perfect for portraits.

Then our amazing bridal party joined us, and we captured more fun group shots before relaxing in the bridal suite with a little champagne. The lighting was incredible, so of course, we had to take a few more portraits while we were there.

The Ceremony

The ceremony was everything I dreamed of. My father walked me down the aisle and gave my hand to Adam — a moment I’ll never forget (check out the picture below!). The bridal party walked down to instrumental versions of Taylor Swift’s Love Story and Wildest Dreams, and I walked down the aisle with my dad to an instrumental version of the Avengers theme song. So fitting.

Our officiant was Adam’s uncle, and he was absolutely perfect for the day. We also had a sand ceremony, where Adam, Bennett, and I combined three different colors of sand into a container to symbolize our family’s unity. That sand later went into a shadow box with my favorite Doctor Who quote: “We’re all stories in the end. Just make it a good one.”

We celebrated down the aisle with bubbles blowing, and we also had a live painter capturing our ceremony setup and first kiss. Having a live painter was one of Adam’s special requests for the wedding day, and I’m so glad we made it happen. That painting now proudly hangs on our fireplace mantle!

Husband & Wife + Family Portraits

For family portraits, we moved the arbor further down the lane. Fun fact: Bennett was officially titled “Son of Honor” and “Best Bennett” — a fun twist on maid of honor and best man.

We also captured husband-and-wife portraits by the floral arch, at the cocktail area with Moscato in hand, and by the hidden reflection pond in the back. Pure magic.

Reception & Celebration

Our entrance was such a blast! Instead of introducing bridal party members individually, we sent out the junior bridal party first, followed by the bridesmaids, then the groomsmen — and finally, Adam and I made our grand entrance with cold sparks. Highly recommend if you want that extra flare!

One of my favorite reception moments was our table dash! The DJ played a song, and we had to run from table to table before the song ended — the perfect way to get a fun photo with all of our guests. Absolute chaos but pure joy.

I specifically requested Jeff Clarke as our DJ, and he was incredible — even letting me DJ for a hot second during the reception. One of my favorite moments was a special song mashup for the kiddos, the kids loved it!

Seeing our live painting for the first time was unbelievable, and we even snuck in a few shots of cold sparks in the dark on the front steps. And of course… if you know me, you know I’m always on the dance floor (especially when The Wobble comes on). Our Last Dance was non-traditional — Adam and I in the middle, surrounded by our guests dancing along with us to the Jonas Brothers’ Remember This. Absolute perfection.

The colors, the florals, the memories — still one of my favorite days ever.

This was a long blog, but it’s truly one of my favorites! I am still in love with our Peterloon Estate Wedding and all the memories. The colors, the florals, the vendors — everything was top-notch. I still can’t believe it’s been four years already!
