Hey, I’m Cassidy! I’m an Ohio photographer specializing in weddings and families, a mom, and someone who truly loves the planning just as much as the photos. I’m here for the timelines, the thoughtful details, and the moments you didn’t even realize were happening — and I’ll never say no to a beach trip when work is done.

A Rainy Day Engagement Session at Cox Arboretum

Becca and Zach’s engagement session at Cox Arboretum is proof that a little rain can lead to some truly magical moments. We watched the weather apps all day, debating whether to reschedule, but ultimately decided to go for it — and I’m so glad we did.

Layered Outfits for a Cozy Fall Look

We started the session in a casual date-night outfit that felt cozy and relaxed. Becca wore a pretty sweater paired with booties and a skirt, while Zach layered his look with a sweater over a button-up — a styling choice I always love. Layering adds visual interest and photographs beautifully, especially in the fall.

Waiting Out the Storm and Unexpected Rainbows

Just as we were transitioning into their second outfits, the rain started to pour. Thankfully, Cox Arboretum has a sheltered awning near the restrooms, giving them the perfect place to change comfortably while waiting out the storm. While they were inside, I stepped out and witnessed something incredible — rainbows. Not just one, but a double rainbow, nearly a triple. A truly once-in-a-session moment.

Their second outfit was the definition of a dressy date night. Becca wore a stunning long white dress with heels, paired perfectly with Zach’s blue suit. This combination is one of my all-time favorites and looked absolutely incredible against the fresh, rain-washed greenery.

Golden Light After the Rain

As we made our way toward the back of the park, the rain eased, and the sun finally made an appearance. The light that followed was soft, glowing, and romantic — the kind photographers dream of after a storm. Everything felt fresh, vibrant, and full of energy.

Ending the Session with a Champagne Pop

We ended the session with an epic champagne pop to celebrate making it through the unpredictable weather together. It was joyful, spontaneous, and such a perfect reflection of Becca and Zach’s easygoing spirits.

Rainy sessions often bring out the most authentic moments, and this one was no exception. Becca and Zach embraced every twist the day threw their way, and the result was a gallery full of warmth, connection, and beauty.

If you’re on the fence about weather for your engagement session, let this be your sign — sometimes the unexpected creates the best memories.
