Five Years of Family Memories at Cox Arboretum
The Griffiths family holds a special place in my heart — this was the fifth time I’ve photographed them, all at Cox Arboretum. There’s something incredibly meaningful about documenting the same family year after year, watching kids grow, and relationships deepen.
This fall family session featured some of the softest, most beautiful light Cox Arboretum has to offer.
Soft Light & Rich Fall Tones
The lighting this day was absolutely ideal — soft, even, and flattering in every direction. Some days at Cox feel extra magical, and this was one of them. Outfit choices were just as thoughtful: Mom wore a creamy sweater, Dad wore navy blue, and sweet Cece stole the show in a jewel-toned teal dress paired with navy accents.
These rich yet neutral tones photographed beautifully against the fall landscape.
Exploring the Park from Front to Back
We began the session near the front of the park before slowly making our way toward the back pond. This walking-style session allowed for a mix of posed portraits and candid moments, giving the gallery a relaxed, natural feel.
Repeat family sessions are always a joy — kids feel comfortable, parents know what to expect, and the experience becomes even more meaningful with time.
Why Repeat Family Sessions Matter
Photographing the same family year after year creates a visual legacy. Each session builds upon the last, telling a fuller story of growth, connection, and love. The Griffiths family is a perfect example of why annual family photos are so special.
If you’re dreaming of a fall family session at Cox Arboretum, I’d love to document your family’s story — whether it’s your first session or your fifth. Reach out here to book your family session.
