This Monarch butterfly-themed editorial at The Honey Farm in Lebanon, Ohio was such a fun session to capture! The Honey Farm always puts together incredible annual editorial sessions, and this year’s whimsical butterfly theme was perfect for the venue, especially with the upcoming fall season.
Working with a talented team of vendors made this session shine. Every detail was thoughtfully styled — from the vintage cake display to the coordinating cookies and stationery. The flatlay details, vintage props, and butterfly-inspired stationery created a cohesive and magical atmosphere.
Ceremony & Cocktail Area
The ceremony setup at The Honey Farm breaks from tradition, creating an intimate and inviting space for guests. Instead of traditional rows of chairs, vintage sofas and chairs provided comfortable seating, while the arbor was adorned with beautiful florals and butterflies.
The couple had so much fun posing in this unique space, and we were able to capture portraits in multiple areas — including the side pond, one of my favorite spots at the property. The cocktail area was equally charming, with small lounge setups perfect for guests to gather between events.
Reception & Details
The reception area was full of color, texture, and whimsical touches. Burnt orange and yellow glassware, moss accents, gold flatware, and small dessert displays added a playful but elegant vibe. The bride’s lacy dress, especially her sleeve details that looked like butterfly wings when she moved, paired perfectly with the groom’s burnt orange suit.
The Honey Farm also has a vintage truck onsite, which made for adorable couple portraits. We finished the evening capturing dancing on the outdoor barn dance floor, twinkling string lights overhead, and a lounge area styled with orange and yellow vintage furniture.
