I’m beyond excited to share Abbey and Mac’s dreamy engagement session on the blog today! I’m also excited because our session was at a location that I’ve been wanting to shoot at, Oakes Quarry! As you all know, I LOVE exploring new locations and finding the perfect spot for a few poses!
Oakes Quarry is like the “desert” area here in Ohio — without the cacti! One of the walking trails that we ventured to overlooks the calm lake. There’s also terrain that resembles the scenery and colors of an Arizona desert. Hiking trails are here as well! Since these two love hiking, it was the perfect location for our session!
The story of how Mac proposed to Abbey is so sweet! These two went on a long hike up the mountains during their spring break in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. At one point on that chilly day, they reached a lookout point with a wonderful view. In Abbey’s words, “Mac told me he needed to ask me a question…and bam! He was down on one knee…I was definitely surprised!”. How sweet is that?!
During our session, a beautiful golden glow blessed us during sunset hour! Their outfits flowed together perfectly with the the hues of the park. These two could have said they were professional models — and I would have believed them! They two were naturals in front of the camera, I felt like I was looking at the cover of a magazine!
I had such a fun time going through this gallery and picking out my favorites for the blog! Here’s a few sneak peeks 🙂
I’m counting down the days until September!
