An Engagement Session Focused on Family and Unity
Kenna and Avery’s engagement session was such a meaningful and beautifully unique experience. From the start, this session was about more than just photos — it was about family, unity, and celebrating the season of life they’re stepping into together.
Dockside Portraits at Eastwood MetroPark
We began at Eastwood MetroPark, a location I always love for its docks and peaceful waterfront views. The kids joined us for part of the session, which I truly value. Engagement sessions can absolutely include children, especially when the wedding represents the blending of families. Capturing those connections is incredibly important to me.
Kenna looked stunning in a simple white dress, her long hair flowing beautifully in the soft light. Avery complemented her perfectly in pale blues and cream pants, while the kids wore coordinating creams and light blues that tied everything together effortlessly. The color palette was cohesive, soft, and timeless.
After capturing moments on the docks, we made our way to the open fields toward the back of the park. This gave the kids space to roam and be themselves while we captured sweet, intimate moments of Kenna and Avery together. The balance between playful family energy and romantic portraits made this portion of the session especially special.
Stepping Outside the Box at Grant Park
Next, we headed to Grant Park in Centerville for something a little different. Kenna had a vision of incorporating water portraits in the creek — something outside my usual approach, but I loved stepping outside the box for this. The lighting was beautiful, the setting was peaceful, and the result was a series of images that felt organic and deeply personal.
Sessions like this remind me that no two love stories look the same, and that’s exactly how it should be. Kenna and Avery’s session was full of intention, connection, and trust — and it made all the difference.
I cannot wait to capture your wedding at Creekside Acres. If your engagement session is any indication, your wedding day is going to be incredibly meaningful and full of heart.
If you’re planning an engagement session that reflects your family, your story, and what matters most to you, I’d be honored to help document it. Let’s chat!
