A Romantic and Elegant Wedding Day at The Lift for Bre & Nick

Ohhh, I just love when my inbox lights up with an inquiry for The Lift. Every single time, I know it’s going to be a beautiful day — and Bre and Nick’s wedding was no exception. From the moment I arrived, I could feel how intentional, elegant, and heartfelt this day was going to be. And honestly, if their engagement session was any indication, I already knew this wedding would be something truly special.

This day was romantic in every sense of the word.

Thoughtful Details and the Perfect Getting Ready Space

We started the day with flatlay details, and Bre was an absolute dream. She had everything perfectly organized in a box and ready to go, which made capturing her details such a joy. Her stationery suite was stunning — wrapped in sage ribbon, accented with dainty florals, and finished with a wax seal that tied everything together so beautifully. The loose florals added softness and elegance, and because Bre and Nick were heading to Disney for their honeymoon, they couldn’t resist including bridal Mickey ears. A personal touch that made me smile instantly.

The Lift truly has one of the best getting ready suites I’ve ever seen. White walls, beautiful windows, incredible natural light — it works perfectly for any wedding color palette. There’s even a secluded area specifically designed for putting your dress on privately, which I absolutely love. The lighting in this space is goals, and it’s one of my favorite places to photograph a wedding dress hanging and capture those quiet mirror moments with the bride.

A Sweet First Hello and Classic Elegance

Before the ceremony, Bre and Nick shared a romantic “hello around the corner,” which is one of my favorite alternatives to a first look. It allowed them to say hi, read letters, and calm any nerves without actually seeing each other. These moments are always so emotional, and theirs was no exception.

Bre then stepped into her dress — and let me just say — absolute goddess. When I first saw her wedding gown, it was exactly what I imagined her in. A strapless princess ballgown with layers of soft tulle, she looked like she walked straight out of a fairytale. Her hair and makeup were flawless, and her girls looked just as stunning in their sage dresses. Truly, I couldn’t picture a more perfect bridal party.

The guys matched the elegant vibe effortlessly in classic black tuxes, which paired beautifully with The Lift’s timeless atmosphere.

Portraits Across Dayton’s Most Iconic Locations

After the first hello, we hopped on a party bus and headed to Wegerzyn Gardens for portraits. Since Breanne and Nick weren’t doing a first look, we split the bridal party into separate trips so they wouldn’t see each other — and it worked perfectly. Wegerzyn is always stunning, but Bre truly stole the show. She is the definition of a princess bride, and photographing her here felt like a dream.

Following the ceremony and family portraits, we made our way to the Dayton Masonic Temple steps for Bre and Nick’s husband-and-wife portraits. The light-colored stone of this building was the perfect backdrop, and this is where Bre wore her veil — which absolutely completed her look. The delicate appliqués were so dainty and romantic, and you know we captured some veil shots. These portraits were timeless, elegant, and full of joy.

A Jaw-Dropping Reception and Golden Hour Magic

The ceremony and reception details were truly out of this world. I was in heaven photographing every inch of it. The color palette was perfection, the layout was so thoughtfully designed, and the king’s table for the bridal party with floating florals was unreal. Guests were seated at round tables with minimalistic florals and candlelight, creating such a warm, romantic atmosphere.

Bre and Nick’s sweetheart table was stunning — adorned with lush florals and a custom “Mr. and Mrs. Willis” sign that felt so personal and sweet.

The reception was an absolute blast, and when we snuck out for sunset portraits, the glow was perfection. Bre and Nick even changed into fun sneakers for the reception, which made for the cutest photos of her dress bustled and ready for dancing.

A Day I’ll Never Forget
