Every year, there are a few sessions I know I’ll see pop up in my inbox—and the Griffiths Family is one of them. This year marked six years of capturing their family photos, and it’s always such a joy getting to spend time with them again. Working with returning family photography clients year after year is one of the most meaningful parts of my job.

Watching CeCe grow each year has been especially sweet. Being a returning family photographer means I get to document not just one season, but a family’s story over time. From a little one to a confident, beautiful young girl, documenting these seasons of life is exactly why I love what I do!

Coordinated Outfits in Soft Blues (No Matter the Season)

This year, the Griffiths family chose a color palette of soft blues paired with creamy neutrals. Y’all… you already know this is one of my favorites. Light blues photograph beautifully in every season, but especially in the fall when paired with warm tones and natural textures. The result? Timeless, clean images with gorgeous color and depth—my editing heart was very happy.

Why Cox Arboretum Is One of My Favorite Fall Photo Locations

We’ve kept up the tradition of photographing their family session at Cox Arboretum in Dayton, Ohio, and it never disappoints. This location is truly one of my go-to spots for family sessions.

Cox Arboretum offers:

• Space to spread out—even on busier days
• Beautiful light throughout the year

Even when the park is active, it’s easy to find quiet pockets that feel private and relaxed, which makes sessions smoother and more enjoyable for everyone.

A Perfect Autumn Evening

Over the years, this family has trusted me with their photos in every season—spring blooms, warm summer evenings, and yes, even super cold sessions and unpredictable Ohio weather. This year just happened to land in the fall, and we lucked out with the perfect cool autumn night, just as the leaves were beginning to turn. It was one of those evenings that reminds you why fall family photos are so popular.
