Starting Their Session at the University of Dayton
Mary and Owen’s engagement session was the perfect mix of sentimental locations, cozy fall tones, and heartfelt moments. I absolutely love it when couples choose locations that mean something to them, and starting their engagement session at the University of Dayton made this one extra special.
Exploring Meaningful Spaces on Campus
We began near the UD chapel and surrounding side gardens, which offered a timeless, peaceful backdrop. Mary and Owen’s earthy-toned outfits complemented the campus beautifully, blending seamlessly with the stone architecture and fall surroundings. As we explored the grounds, we even ran into a few classmates who stopped to say hello — a sweet reminder of just how meaningful this season of life is for them.
The University of Dayton campus has so many hidden gems, and it was such a joy to explore a new location together. From quiet walkways to tucked-away garden spaces, every corner gave us something unique while still feeling true to their story.
Fall Engagement Photos at Cox Arboretum
For the second half of their session, we headed to Cox Arboretum just as fall was beginning to show itself. The trees were starting to turn, adding subtle pops of warm color that made the setting feel cozy and romantic. Owen wore soft grays and creams, while Mary’s dress paired with a cream sweater created the perfect fall palette. These neutral tones photograph beautifully and never overpower the scenery.
Cox Arboretum is one of my favorite engagement locations because of how versatile it is. We were able to capture a mix of open spaces, wooded paths, and gentle fall color without needing to walk far. The timing couldn’t have been better — early fall light, crisp air, and just enough seasonal color to hint at what’s to come.
Mary and Owen were natural together, relaxed and completely present. Their session felt calm, genuine, and full of quiet joy — the kind that doesn’t need big gestures to shine.
Engagement sessions like this are such a beautiful way to celebrate not just a wedding to come, but the journey that led you there. Mary and Owen, thank you for trusting me to capture such meaningful moments for you both.
If you’re considering an engagement session that blends sentimental locations with beautiful seasonal scenery, I’d love to help bring your vision to life.
