Lydia and Nathan’s New Year’s Eve wedding in Cincinnati was the perfect way to ring in a new year — and a new chapter. This was my second NYE wedding, and I absolutely love how meaningful and celebratory these days feel. From a traditional church ceremony to winter skyline portraits and an elegant reception, their wedding was classic, heartfelt, and full of joy.
A Meaningful New Year’s Eve Wedding
There’s something extra special about getting married on New Year’s Eve. It’s a day already filled with reflection, celebration, and excitement for what’s ahead — and Lydia and Nathan leaned fully into that energy. Their wedding day felt intentional, joyful, and perfectly timed to close out the year in the best way possible.
A Traditional Catholic Wedding Ceremony
Lydia and Nathan were married during a beautiful Catholic ceremony at Holy Cross – Immaculata Parish in Cincinnati. One of my favorite moments from the day was their “hello around the corner.” For couples who choose not to do a first look, this is such a sweet alternative — allowing for a private, emotional moment without seeing each other before the ceremony.
Classic Wedding Style & Color Palette
The winter color palette was stunning. The bridesmaids wore rich maroon dresses paired with coordinating florals, while the men wore classic black tuxes. Lydia looked absolutely radiant in her long-sleeve wedding gown — a perfect choice for a winter wedding and such a timeless silhouette.
Her dress, paired with the seasonal colors and classic styling, created an elegant and cohesive look throughout the day.
Winter Portraits at George Rogers Clark Park
After the ceremony, we headed to George Rogers Clark Park for portraits, and it was the perfect winter backdrop. Capturing the Cincinnati skyline and the Roebling Bridge added such a meaningful local touch to their gallery.
Winter portraits can be absolutely stunning, and Lydia and Nathan’s session is a perfect example of how Cincinnati offers incredible scenery year-round.
Ringing in the New Year as Newlyweds
The evening wrapped up with a beautiful celebration at The Grande, where Lydia and Nathan celebrated not only their marriage, but the start of a brand new year together. It was the perfect ending to a truly memorable day.
